Ingredients
- 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 pinch ground ginger
- 1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 red bell peppers, cut into large chunks
- 1 large sweet onion, cut into wedges
- 1 1/2 cups whole fresh mushrooms
- Wooden or metal skewers
Directions
- In a large resealable bag or mixing bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, honey, garlic powder, and ground ginger until well combined.
- Add the cubed chicken, beef sirloin, bell peppers, onion wedges, and mushrooms to the marinade. Toss everything thoroughly to coat. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Thread the marinated chicken, steak, peppers, onions, and mushrooms onto skewers, alternating ingredients and leaving a little space between pieces for even cooking. Discard any leftover marinade.
- Place the kabobs on the hot grill and cook for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked, the steak reaches your preferred doneness, and the vegetables are tender with light char marks.
- Remove the kabobs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving hot.
Chefs Notes
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- You can customize these kabobs with zucchini, pineapple chunks, cherry tomatoes, or yellow squash for extra flavor and color.
- For even cooking, try to keep all meat pieces cut to a similar size.
- Serve with steamed rice or grilled flatbread for a complete meal.
