Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (3 pound) corned beef brisket with spice packet

Directions

  1. Gather all ingredients and prepare your Instant Pot.
  2. Pour water and beer into the Instant Pot, then stir in the minced garlic.
  3. Place the trivet inside the pot and set the corned beef brisket on top. Sprinkle the included spice packet evenly over the meat.
  4. Close and lock the lid. Set the Instant Pot to high pressure and cook for 90 minutes. Allow about 10 minutes for the pressure to build before cooking begins.
  5. Once cooking is complete, carefully perform a quick release according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Remove the brisket and transfer it to a baking sheet. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice against the grain and serve warm. Optionally, cook vegetables like potatoes, carrots, and cabbage in the remaining liquid while the meat rests.
