Dish Description
I made this cake for my family and they loved it! My co-worker even said it reminded her of her mother’s recipe. This recipe is truly out of this world good.
Ingredients
Cake
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup cake-flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 stick butter
- 5 eggs
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp butter flavoring
- 1 tsp almond extract
Glaze
- 2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray bundt pan generously with nonstick spray.
- Mix ingredients for cake together until smooth. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into pan and bake for 55 -65 minutes until done. Allow to cool for about 10-15 minutes and invert into serving dish.
- While cake is cooling mix powdered sugar and lemon juice to desired texture. It is only a glaze, so it should be a thicker consistency.
- Pour glaze over cake a little at a time spreading with the back of a spoon allowing it to soak into the still-warm cake. Serve.
