This braised corned beef brisket transforms a classic dish into something incredibly rich, tender, and deeply flavorful. Instead of simmering the brisket in water, this method begins by searing the meat to build a savory crust before slowly roasting it in the oven with onions and garlic.
The long braising time allows the brisket to become unbelievably juicy and fork-tender while soaking up all the aromatic flavors.
The result is a hearty roast that feels special enough for holidays yet simple enough to make anytime you crave comforting, slow-cooked beef.
The onions and garlic caramelize gently as the brisket cooks, creating a fragrant base that pairs perfectly with traditional sides like cabbage, potatoes, carrots, or buttery colcannon. Once you try this slow-braised version, it may become your go-to way to cook corned beef all year long.
